Weather Milan
See the weather for MilanMilan’s weather is quite typical of continental European climate patterns. While neither extreme in terms of temperature nor prone to violent storms, one can expect rather hot and humid summers, wet and cool winters and mild, pleasant springs and autumns. Frequent, light rainfall is common throughout winter and spring, but snowfall is very uncommon, with usually no more than one moderate dusting of white per year, generally occurring from mid-December to mid-January. The best time of year to visit Milan is mid-March through June, or at the tail-end of the summer when temperatures first begin to drop. During the winter months and through the spring, thick fog can be quite common in Milan. And while the summer months are generally quite sunny, the colder months are marked by a notable lack of sunshine, with a grey canopy enveloping the city most days. Like most Italian cities, activity virtually comes to a standstill in the month of August, when residents flee for more temperate ground and take their month-long vacations. It should be noted, though, that from July through mid-September, Milan’s weather can become oppressively hot and is notably compounded by the generally high levels of humidity.
